Prevention Science, Ph.D.

The prevention science graduate program provides doctoral-level training to people interested in developing expertise in the study of individuals and families and in the development and evaluation of prevention programs.

The Ph.D. in prevention science, available on the Vancouver, Spokane and Pullman campuses, is an interdisciplinary program involving faculty from human development, communication, education, kinesiology, nursing, sociology and psychology.

Examples of prevention programs include drug and alcohol abuse prevention; obesity prevention; youth development; early childhood learning improvement; and health promotion/disease prevention in adulthood.
